Kent Carlson, 63, of Wapello, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026, at his home. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026 at Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral & Cremation Services of Wapello. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will be in Wapello Cemetery. Kent’s family has asked for those attending services to wear camouflage and or casual dress in honor of Kent. A memorial has been established for the family. Kent Fredrick Carlson was born on December 6, 1962, in Burlington, the son of Fred and Ethel “Vonnie” (Gerst) Carlson. Kent was a 1982 graduate of Wapello High School. Following graduation Kent did summer work and worked for Louis Rich Plant for several years before going to work at Walmart Distribution, where he has worked for the last 33 years. Kent bravely served his country in the United States Army during Desert Storm. He was an avid outdoorsman; who loved all kinds of hunting – mushroom hunting, coon hunting, deer hunting as well as going fishing. He was a family man who dearly loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Kent will be deeply missed by his children, Sarah Fuller of Arizona, Taylor Keena of Mediapolis, and Cammie Hallum of Arizona; grandchildren, Acheron, Mateo, Amelia, Betty, Cayde, Hayes and Oliver; siblings, Carrie (Lonny) Hansford of Letts, Craig (Tammy) Carlson of Cairo, Cory (Nancy) Carlson of Morning Sun, Kevin Carlson of Wapello and Kurt Carlson of Wapello; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kent was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
