Three Truck Crash

On 9/8/21 at 8:33 am, the Mt Pleasant PD was dispatched to the intersection of W Washington St and Marion St for a motor vehicle collision. It was determined that a truck operated by Patrick Gray of Oquawka IL  was westbound behind another truck operated by Stewart Kinney of Mt Pleasant. Kinney stopped in the left lane to turn left onto S Marion Street at the flashing yellow light. Gray then swung around him into the right hand lane and struck a truck operated by Mark Lewis of Mt Pleasant, who had stopped at the flashing yellow light. The Gray truck struck the Lewis vehicle and then struck the Kinney vehicle. All three vehicles sustained significant damage. The total estimate in damages is $20,000. Nobody was injured in the collision. Gray will be cited for Failure to Stop within an assured distance.
