Join us for our 4th Annual Bike Around the Fairfield Loop Trail Annual Fun Ride, or BAFLTAFR for short, beginning at Chautauqua Park in Fairfield, Iowa!  Grab your family & friends and have fun on this 18 mile biking adventure starting at 9am.  There will be snacks and water along the route and SWAG bags given to each rider at registration.  RSVP for the ride by emailing: Info@FairfieldIowa.com or calling 641-472-2111.  Registration fee is $20 for each rider over age 12, children under 12 are free with a paid adult.  There is a max fee of $30 for families.

Blackhawk Model Builders Society presents IPMS/HawkCon 2023 from 8:30am – 4:00pm at Westland Mall in West Burlington, Iowa!  Awards for “Best in Show” & “Modelers Choice Award”- 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in each category.  Categories include:

• Juniors 16/under/all themes,
• armor,
• cars, trucks,
• miscellaneous,
• diorama,
• aircraft ( 1/48 & smaller or 1/47 & larger),
• science fiction & real space,

Des Moines County Conservation presents an exciting and free event centered around Monarch Butterflies at the Hickory Shelter in Big Hollow Recreation Area!  “All About Monarchs” from  10:00am – noon features the world of Monarch Butterflies and offers the opportunity to tag Monarchs!  Nets will be supplied, please dress for the weather, and any changes in the program can be found on the Starr’s Cave Facebook page or by calling 319-753-5808.

Harmony Homecoming Parade begins at 1pm at Wild Rose Park in Farmington. At 3pm the Harmony class of 1968 will meet at the Bonaparte Inn. All Alumni are welcome to stop in and visit. Then at 7pm the Bridge Cafe will provide live music with Rod Rider.

Oakland Mills: A Picture Show with Pat White & Lynn Conrad today at 2 p.m. located in the Henry County Heritage Center Museum. Pat will share the history of Oakland Mills with a slideshow of historic images, Lynn will give an update on the Oakland Mills K-Line Flagstop/Depot Project. Oakland Mills memorabilia will be on display. Proceeds of the day will benefit the Depot Project. Refreshments provided, for questions call 319-385-4983.

Join the Burlington Iowa Police Department from 1 pm to 4 pm in the Kohl’s parking lot for a free car seat check. Officers will be available to answer your questions and inspect your child’s car seat to ensure it is correctly sized and is installed correctly.

Mt. Pleasant High School Class of 1973 will continue their 50th class reunion celebration with a casual gathering at the Mt Pleasant Golf and Country Club at 6:30pm.
