Harvest Festival 2023 at St. John Catholic Church in Houghton, Iowa, features the Ultimate Patio Package OR $8000 in CASH!  Second & third prizes are $1000 in cash, each!  The drawing is at 8:00pm tonight!  Get your tickets!  $25 per ticket or 5 tickets for $100!

There is a Burlington Area Homeless Shelter Fundraiser from 6:00-9:00pm. Dinner, live band (Rockin Rhinoz), a 50/50 raffle, and cash bar will make for a great night at the Eagles Club 2727 Mt Pleasant St, Burlington. A table of 8 is $500, individual tickets are $75. Day three of the Red Flag Horseless Carriage tour Our keynote tour is from New London to Brighton starting and ending in Mount Pleasant. Enjoy breakfast starting at the Dover Museum followed by starting ceremony and departure for Brighton. New London, Mount Pleasant, Rome, Lockridge, Four Corners, Germanville, Brighton, Coppock, Wayland, Trenton.  Brass Era vehicles made before 1928 and their drivers will experience the beauty and hospitality over the three days of touring that are unique to this part of the state.  Tour routes vary each year, and traditionally run between 75 and 100 miles per day.  

Family Fun night featuring Friends of Salem Old Settlers free will donation fish fry as a benefit to the Salem Recreation Association at the Salem Ball Fields. Fun starting at 4 pm to include water balloons (weather permitting), bounce house, whiffle ball, kick ball, bags, and a movie after dark! Food will be available starting at 5 pm to include fish by the Friends of Salem Old Settlers and pulled pork dinner. Free will donation supper, adult beverages for sale! Proceeds from this event and other fundraising activities will go towards building a new snack shack and bathrooms!

Hometown Pride Louisa County, Inc. is hosting the Louisa County Fine Art Show today and Sunday, October 1st.  Art from area artists will be on display at the Morning Sun Community Center; home of the Lora Rock Gallery, 106 N. Main in Morning Sun.  Free and open to the public!
