The City of Mt. Pleasant Compost Site has new hours: Wednesday, the site will be open 12pm-5pm & Saturday 8am-5pm.

V.F.W. Post 7641 will host a Veterans Day Observance at 2 p.m. at 802 East McKinley in New London. Refreshments will be served by the Auxiliary after the program.

The New London V.F.W. Post 7641 is serving up a Catfish & Chicken Dinner from 5:00pm – 7:00pm!!  Catfish-$13.00/person, Chicken-$9.00/person (chicken all white-$10.00/person).  Dinner includes Roll and choice of 2 sides (Fries, Baked Beans, Coleslaw). The public is welcome.

The Lockridge Veterans Association is hosting a Veterans Day Program. At 7:45am Veterans Day guests will meet at the Community Center. Raising of the flag at the cemetery is scheduled at 8:00am.  Breakfast casserole, gravy, homemade pastries, coffee, tea, and juice will be served at the Community Center. The Veterans Day Program “Freedom” will take place at 8:45am.

The Winter Market & Craft Show at the Presbyterian Church in Mt. Pleasant, 902 South Walnut Street is from 9:00am – Noon.  You will find crafts, art, homemade and canned goods, as well as some produce!  Check it out!

Sunrise Terrace in Winfield is hosting a Craft & Bake Sale 9:00am 1:00pm at 706 West Central Ave. in Winfield!  Lots of guest vendors will feature handmade crafts & homemade products, including Fall and Christmas decor.  Residents will have baked goods and there will be a Coffee Bar for guests to enjoy a roll & beverage!

The Mt. Pleasant High School Drama Department presents:  PRIDE & PREJUDICE at the Heatilator Performing Arts Center, 307 East Monroe in Mt. Pleasant.  Showtimes are 7:00pm tonight and 2:00pm tomorrow afternoon!  Admission is $10 at the door.

The Thanksgiving Play” at The Walton Club, 2265 Walton Lake Road, Fairfield.  Tickets for the show are $20 at the door or available for purchase at Adela’s.

The Avenue of the Flags has Veterans Day Observance plans for today. Beginning at 10:30am, the public is invited to 300 W Monroe St in Mt. Pleasant (Veterans Hall), for observance. Dean King is Master of Ceremonies and Pastor Bryan Katchay will deliver the invocation and benediction. The MPCHS Coral Group will sing the National Anthem and another patriotic selection. At 11:00 the Henry County Honor Guard will fire 3 volleys in honor of all veterans, and taps will be sounded. There were ten names added to the Henry County Memorial stones this Veterans Day, and those names will be acknowledged. This brings the total list of names on the memorial to 1515.
