The Des Moines County  Conservation is hosting their annual Eagle Watch Program beginning at 10:00am at the Port of Burlington. DMCC Volunteer Lori Carnes will lead this group and share her expertise and passion. Afterward, caravan to Lock and Dam 18 for a 15 minute eagle observation. Come dressed prepared for the weather and bring binoculars if you have a pair, otherwise, they will be provided to borrow. Celebrate 40 years of tradition with the 2024 Bald Eagle Appreciation Days in Keokuk at First Christian Church, 3476 Main St, Keokuk IA. LIVE Eagles Shows from the World Bird Sanctuary, the ever-popular Iowa State Insect Zoo, Lee County Conservation eagle nests & nature displays, Native American displays and artifacts by the Iliniwek Village, Office of the State archaeologist displays of artifacts identified in Iowa, guided bus tours, vendors, food and the all-new Bald Eagle Days Photography contest! Plus trained eagle spotters at Victory Park and the Southside Boat Club on Keokuk’s riverfront.
