Henry County closures in observance of Veteran’s Day include:  The Mt. Pleasant Public Library (closed), Iowa DOT (closed), Government Offices (closed), no Postal Service, and most banks & credit unions are closed and no trash collection or recycling.

The Henry County Veterans Day Observance will begin at 10:30am in the community room of the Veterans Hall at 300 W. Monroe St. in Mt. Pleasant.  A program includes speakers, a performance by the MPCHS Chamber Choir, and the introduction of four names that will added to the Henry County Memorial Stones.  This event is open to the public and all are invited to attend.

The Faith Lutheran Church, 910 E. Mapleleaf Drive in Mt. Pleasant is hosting their annual Veterans Dinner at 5:30pm today.  All Veterans & one guest are invited to a beef & noodles dinner with entertainment by Acapella. Please call 319-385-8427 to make your reservation.  This year, Faith Lutheran will be delivering meals to home-bound veterans with assistance from Access Energy!
