The New London Community School District is hosting a Thanksgiving Food Drive through today!  Drop off Thanksgiving, non-perishable dinner items and monetary donations for turkeys & hams are accepted!  Drop off points include Clark Elementary, New London High School Office and the New London Public Library.

The friends of Henry County Health Center invite you to their annual Soup Supper tonight at the Calvary Baptist Church, 803 East Mapleleaf Drive Mount Pleasant, from 4-7pm. Your donation gets you a choice of Chicken Noodle, Potato Kielbasa, Ham & Bean, Tomato Basil, or Broccoli Cheese Soups or Chili. Enjoy 1 soup, bread relishes, dessert, and a drink OR choose a Flight of Soup and try four of the six soup options. Proceeds benefit the Friends of Henry County Health Center’s mission to support the health center through activities, programs, and fundraising. Dine in or take it to go!

Main Street Mt. Pleasant kicks off the holiday season with Jingle, Jingle Mix & Mingle Wine Walk and retailer open house! Shop local this holiday season!!  Stroll downtown Mt. Pleasant with the Wine Walk from 5p – 7pm tonight, and on Saturday, start your holiday shopping with Holiday Open House at participating retailers during regular business hours!

The Faith Lutheran Church, 910 E. Mapleleaf Drive in Mt. Pleasant is hosting their annual Veterans Dinner at 5:30pm on Sunday, November 10th.  All Veterans & one guest are invited to a beef & noodles dinner with entertainment by Acapella. TODAY is the last day to make your reservation for this dinner.  Please call 319-385-8427 to make your reservation.  This year, Faith Lutheran will be delivering meals to home-bound veterans with assistance from Access Energy!

The MPCHS Drama Department presents “PUFFS” , the annual Fall Play at the Heatilator Performing Arts Center, 307 East Monroe St. this weekend.  Performances are at 7:00pm tonight and tomorrow night with a Sunday Matinee at 2:00pm.  Tickets are $10 at the door!

The New London High School Theater Department opens their Fall Play, “Deadline” at 7:00pm at the school’s auditorium!  There are performances on Saturday, November 9th at 2pm & 7pm.
