The Mt. Pleasant Farmer’s Market is open in McMillan Park from 8:30am – 11am!  The farmer’s market features fresh produce, baked goods, crafts and more!  Also open on Wednesday from 4p-6p, you will find fresh, in season items!

Enjoy a Swedish Pancake Breakfast from 8a-11a at the Parrish Hall, 201 Academy Ave., in Swedesburg!  Swedish pancakes, potato sausage, ham, pastries, juice, and coffee are on the menu!  Adults are $12 – Kids 10 & under are $5.

The West Point Sweet Corn Festival in West Point, Iowa features a fun run, drag races, entertainment on the main stage; plus – FREE sweet corn!   Here is a list of activities:,

  • 6:45a-7:30a Registration for the 5K & 10K Run in front of the Main Stage
  • 8am Run begins with Awards at 9:15am.
  • 9am Registration for the Horseshoe Doubles Tournament (ages 16 & up) with the tournament starting at 10am.
  • 10:30a-11p Pee Wee Drags Registration ages 3-6 – No Entry Fee (candy & ribbons for all who participate)
  • 11a-1p Races in front of Main Stage
  • 11a-10p FREE Sweet Corn Served!
  • 11a-10p BBQ Chicken Dinners (carry out available)
  • 11a-10p Arts & Crafts in the Park
  • 11:30a-10p Carnival
  • 12:20p-1p Registration – Junior Water Fights EVENT: 1p-2:30p (ride tickets to all winners)
  • 1p-2:30p Registration for the Corn Hole Tournament (must be 21Y, cash prizes awarded!
  • 3p-6:30p Corn Hole Tournament (south side of the square)
  • 4p- 6pFree Entertainment with Monsterya on the Main Stage
  • 7p-10p The Cowtippers

The Henry County Democrats Executive Committee is hosting a Community Conversation at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Main Street in Mt. Pleasant from 10am – 11:30am.  Updates will be shared and all are welcome to express ideas, voice concerns, and join in the conversation.

The 16th Annual J40 Farm Crawl in Van Buren County is from 9am – 4pm.  Explore the Heart of Iowa as you travel through the Villages of Van Buren County on J40!

  • 8am-12p Amish Breakfast – Lebanon Amish School
  • Farm Tours: feature flowers, livestock, greenhouses, fresh produce
  • Homemade Treats: baked goods, cheese, mead, maple syrup & honey
  • Courtyard Market: downtown Keosauqua with local vendors
