Prep Boys’ Golf: Washington Secures Conference Title in Fourth Straight Perfect Season

Hamilton, IL- For the fourth year in a row the Washington boys’ golf team finished the regular season perfect against the Southeast Conference and hoisted the conference title after outdueling the other four teams at Deer Run Golf Course on Wednesday morning by at least 26 strokes.

Washington turned in a team score of 318 with the help of three All-Conference golfers. Rajan Roth took home the gold medal with a card of 74 with Drew Conrad backing him up with a round of 76. Ethan Peebler snatched 7th place with a score of 81. The lowest scoring Demon still finished in 17th place.

Fort Madison took 2nd place with a score of 334, which was just one stroke in front of Mt. Pleasant and three in front of Fairfield, while Keokuk rounded out the team standings. Colton Boyer led the Bloodhounds with a 4th place score of 79. Rowan Benda’s 8th place finish earned All-Conference status.

Mt. Pleasant had a nice trio finish inside the top 11 with Brody Engle’s bronze medal card of 77 and Owen Dolf 9th place score of 81 granting the pair All-Conference status. Merrick Lamm just missed the cut with an 82. Logan Calhoun and Alek Barton each turned in a 95 for 21st and 22nd place, respectively.

Fairfield also had a pair of All-Conference golfers as Andrew Myers claimed 6th place with a round of 81 and Archer Kreuter finished in 10th place with an 82. Luke Thornton and Xavier Kessel each took a round of 87 for 15th and 16th place, respectively.

Keokuk’s Carter Land was the final All-Conference selection with a 5th place card of 80.

The SEC will meet back up in Fairfield for Class 3A Sectionals on Wednesday, May 13th.
