Carolyn Jean Cochran, 92, a resident of Fairfield, passed away Saturday, July 11, 2026 at Parkview Care Center in Fairfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to First Lutheran Church for Come to Supper. Behner Funeral Home in Fairfield is assisting the family.
Jean was born August 3, 1933, in Fairfield, the daughter of Edward and Leora (Given) Weirbach. She married Bill Angstead, June 11, 1949. They later divorced. She then married Bruce Cochran in 1983. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Jean worked as an accountant for Napa Auto Parts and Jefferson County Home Health Service. In her younger years she worked as a telephone operator. When Bill was sheriff, Jean cooked for the inmates in the county jail. She also worked at Martin Drug in Fairfield in the cosmetics department.
Jean enjoyed going to country music concerts with her sisters. She was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church.
Those left to honor her memory include her children, Amy (Terry) Sharkey of Seattle, Washington, Adam Angstead of Iowa City, and Cathy (Bob) Brunton of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; grandchildren, Caitlin and Dexter; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Claire, and Andrew.
In addition to her husband, Bruce, she was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Shirley Hahn and Norma Emerson; and brothers, Robert and Richard Weirbach.
