An 18-year-old Salem man was cited following a rollover crash on Oakland Mills Road late Saturday night.
The Henry County Sheriff’s Office received a Life360 crash-detection alert from the 1500 grid of Oakland Mills Road at approximately 11:42 p.m.
Deputies arrived to find a 1999 GMC Sonoma upright in the ditch on the south side of the road, but no driver was present.
Investigators determined the pickup had been traveling west when it entered the north ditch, struck a mailbox, crossed the roadway and rolled into the south ditch before landing on its wheels.
Authorities say 18-year-old Thomas Van Duren later arrived at the scene and admitted he had been driving. Van Duren was cited for failure to maintain control.
No injuries were reported. The Mount Pleasant Police and Fire departments assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
