Thunderstorm activity last night in the KILJ listening area produced a varying amount of rainfall. The Mt. Pleasant area reported just under half an inch of rain. In the last 24 hours- Rome checked in with over an inch of rain and Trenton was just under an inch of precipitation. According to Washington County dispatch call logs, there were a couple of downed power lines in Washington and debris due to higher winds.
The National Weather Service advises increasing heat and humidity on Sunday (8/9/26) and Monday (8/10/26). Confidence is high regarding very humid conditions, and the hottest temperatures will be in the 90s and higher heat index readings could reach 100-102 degrees favoring areas along and south of I-80. Thunderstorms could impact temperatures and peak heat indices.
