A motorcycle crash temporarily shut down eastbound Highway 34 near Danville Wednesday evening.
Emergency crews were called to the area near mile marker 155 shortly before 8 p.m. Two people were injured, including a male driver and a female passenger. Dispatch reports indicated the woman appeared to have the more serious injuries.
MedForce was requested, and crews closed the eastbound lanes and the on-ramp from Old Highway 34 to provide a landing area for the helicopter. Eastbound traffic was temporarily detoured along Old Highway 34 through Danville.
Emergency personnel also reported problems with drivers failing to slow down while approaching the crash scene.
The scene was turned over to law enforcement, and all lanes had reopened by approximately 8:45 p.m. The names of those involved and the extent of their injuries have not been released.
