A driver suffered minor injuries after a vehicle struck a horse near Kalona Wednesday night.
The Washington County Communications Center received the report shortly before 9 p.m. in the 1200 block of Highway 1. The driver, identified as Christopher Armstrong of Kalona, reported cuts from broken windshield glass.
Washington County sheriff’s deputies, Kalona first responders and Kalona firefighters were called to the scene. Armstrong was not taken to the hospital.
David Adam Hochstedler of Kalona was cited for allowing an animal to run at large. A state accident report will be filed.
