Dennis Lee Troutman, 67, of Bonaparte, Iowa, passed away at 6:46 p.m. Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, Iowa.
Dennis was born on May 9, 1959, in Keosauqua, Iowa, the son of Gerald Lee “Bud” and Barbara (Parker) Troutman. On October 17, 1982, he married Peggy Sedore in Bonaparte, Iowa.
Survivors include his wife: Peggy; sons: Scott (Amber) Troutman of Bonaparte, Iowa, Richard Troutman of Taylor, Arizona, Dustin Troutman of Bonaparte, Iowa, Jacob Troutman of Bonaparte, Iowa, Levi (Nell) Troutman of Des Moines, Iowa; five granddaughters; brother: Robert (Deb) Troutman of Keosauqua, Iowa and sister: Sherri (Armando) Hernandez of Fort Madison, Iowa. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, aunts and uncles.
Dennis was a graduate of Harmony High School. He was a long time Bonaparte business owner, most recently operating Troutman Produce, with his wife Peggy. Dennis enjoyed hunting, fishing, genealogy and most of all spending time with his granddaughters.
A celebration of life will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 29, 2026, at the former Bonaparte Elementary School.
Burial will be at Bonaparte Cemetery.
