Prep Softball: Winfield-Highland to Meet Again Tonight:
The Winfield and Highland softball teams will play today in an unprecedented suspended game after rain and strong winds wiped away this weekend’s chances to finish their regional semifinal.
The game will be picked up today at 5:00 p.m. in the bottom of the 6th in a 0-0 game.

Anna Anderson will be the batter with the go-ahead run, Carlee Sloan, at third base to begin the restart.
The winner of this game will move into Tuesday’s region final for a chance to play for a berth into the 2021 State Tournament.
That game will be played in Lisbon against Lisbon High School.
Prep Baseball: New London Begins Playoff Push:
The No. 7 (1A) New London Tiger baseball team will open their postseason schedule tonight in New London, when they take on Tri-County.
Tri-County knocked off Moulton-Udell in the play-in round.
The game, which was originally scheduled for Saturday, will be preceded by Keota-Danville at 5:00 p.m.
New London-Tri-County is scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.
The winners from tonight’s contest will meet up again tomorrow in the second round.
That game will be played at New London High School regardless of tonight’s outcomes.
Other area first round games tonight include:
- Winfield-Mount Union at Sigourney
- Burlington Notre Dame at Moravia
- Louisa-Muscatine at Mediapolis
- Regina vs. West Burlington at Mediapolis
- Davis County vs. Central Lee at Bloomfield
Prep Baseball: Mount Pleasant to Battle Solon:
The Mount Pleasant baseball team will meet up with Solon today in varsity nonconference matchup.
Solon is second in the WAMAC this year with a record of 25-11 — they’re 20-4 in conference play.
This will be Mount Pleasant’s final tune-up before taking on No. 9 (3A) Fort Madison in their playoff opener on Friday night in Fort Madison.
The Panthers enter play tonight at 7-23, they’re 4-14 in conference play.
Tonight’s game will begin at 7:00 p.m. at the Solon Recreation and Nature Area.
PGA Tour: Lucas Glover Wins John Deere Classic:
Lucas Glover fired a seven under par 64 to win the John Deere Classic in the Quad Cities.
It was Glover’s fourth career win on the PGA Tour and his first in a decade. He finished two strokes ahead of Kevin Na and Ryan Moore.
After taking the lead into the final round Columbia’s Sebastian Munoz carded an even par on the final day to finish three strokes back.
