FAIRFIELD — Velocity Irish Dance will perform traditional and modern Irish dance and music
at Fairfield Arts & Convention Center on March 26th at 7:30 pm.
Velocity Irish Dance, the next generation of Irish tap, is an expressive, free, fast-paced, and edgy
performance driven by passion and pride. Led by five-time World Champion Irish dancer David
Geaney, and Guinness World Record Holder Tyler Schwartz, the dancers are joined on stage by
a crew of mind-blowing musicians to present the Irish traditions like you’ve ever seen them
before! Created by David Geaney and World Record Holder for the fastest feet in the world,
James Devine, these illustrious hoofers come together in an intimate, no-nonsense jam session
of impossible scuffles and shuffles. A multimedia show for all ages that earnestly traces its
evolution while toying with tradition, Velocity is a high-octane celebration of the past, present
and future of Irish dance.
Dingle native David Geaney, a 5 time World Champion Dancer, is taking the world by storm.
David was awarded the 2014 “Man of the Year” by the Irish Dancing Magazine and has amassed
over 5 million views online for various performances. After an illustrious competitive career,
amassing numerous major titles including All Ireland, European, All Scotland and Great Britain
Championships alongside his five world titles, he has now set his sights on choreographing and
performing to audiences worldwide.
Sticking with a theme, David will be joined by co-principal dancer Tyler Schwartz, named the
2017 “Man of the Year” by Irish Dancing Magazine and holder of multiple Guinness World
Records for Irish dance.
The two superstars are supported by a company of dancers and musicians that bring Ireland to
Iowa in a fantastic way.

Anna Lee Conrad, 89, of West Point, Iowa, passed away at 2:22 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2022 at her home.
Friends may call after 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point, where the family will receive friends from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. and a Christian wake service will be held at 5:30 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in West Point with Father Dennis Hoffman as celebrant.
Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in West Point, Iowa.
A memorial has been established in her memory to St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church.

Robert G. “Bubbles” Brandmeyer
Robert G. “Bubbles” Brandmeyer, 61 of Burlington passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House in West Burlington.
Bob was born on April 14, 1960, in Des Moines County, the son of Don and Loretta (Tilton) Brandmeyer. He was united in marriage to Susan Hand in 1989 and from this union 2 children were born, Trey and Tori. He later married Tamra VanDyke on March 4, 2004. Bob worked in housekeeping and later the laundry departments of the Great River Medical Center in West Burlington before retiring in 2019. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time on the river. He was a true fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes, Chicago Cubs and the Dallas Cowboys. Most of all he enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tamra Brandmeyer of Burlington, his children, Trey (Danielle) Brandmeyer of Burlington, Tori (Tanner) Gipple of New London, Jessie (Jeremy) Starman of Cleveland, Ohio, Whiskey (Hannah) Curtis of Salix, Missouri, Yukon (Jessie) Curtis of Macomb, Illinois and Shale Curtis of Mediapolis, Iowa, his brother, Danny Brandmeyer of Lebanon, Missouri, seven grandchildren and two on the way.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rick Brandmeyer.
His family will host a Celebration of his Life on Saturday, March 19, 2022, at 2 p.m. at Hallers Bar and Grill in Burlington. Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant.

Willie Estil Stewart, 83, of Salem, Iowa passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at Klein Center in West Burlington, Iowa.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 2:30 p.m. at the Salem East Cemetery in Salem. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Following the graveside service there will be a time of fellowship at the Salem Community Center. Memorials may be directed to the Salem Fire and Rescue Association in his memory.

James Roland Nealey (final arrangements)
James Roland Nealey, 75, of Danville, died Friday, March 11, 2022 at his home following a heroic thirty year battle with Parkinson’s disease. He was born November 30, 1946 in Burlington to Burton Kelly and Mildred Florence Moore Nealey. On August 30, 1969, he married Catherine M. Gillette in San Antonio, Texas.
Jim graduated as Salutatorian of the Danville class of 1965, then from ISU in 1970 with a degree in animal science. He was a member of the Danville United Methodist Church where he taught Sunday School for fifteen years, and served ten years on the Danville school board.
He was in the National Guard and was a lifelong farmer and cowboy. He loved training horses with his brothers; and mentored other cowboys who wanted to be in the sport of rodeo. In his younger years he enjoyed going to rodeos with his family and friends. He was the IRCA champion in 1979 and in 1984, which earned him a trip to compete in the Calgary Stampede. He was a member of the IPRA for over fifty years and for more than thirty-five years he oversaw the Des Moines County Fair Jackpot. Once Parkinson’s became a part of his life, he enjoyed watching rodeos on TV, making rope halters, and visiting with all of his rodeo friends who remained in touch.
Besides his wife Cathy, he is survived by his children, Patrick Nealey (Toni Staats) of Danville and Katrina Hulse of Burlington; four grandchildren, Tucker and Nealey Hulse, and Caroline and Byers Nealey; brothers, Charlie (Connie) Nealey of Danville and Tom (Diane) Nealey of Bloomington, Illinois; sister Cindy (John) Schuelke of Leavenworth, Kansas; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
The funeral service for Mr. Nealey will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, March 19, 2022 at the Danville United Methodist Church with Pastor Jacob Yocum officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 Saturday with the family receiving friends beginning at 12:00 noon until the time of the service. Burial will follow at Jaggar Cemetery, rural Danville. A visitation will be open from noon until 6:00 pm on Friday, March 18, at Elliott Chapel, New London; the family will not be present.

Duane L. “Max” Maxwell, 85, of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, March 11, 2022 at the Klein Center, West Burlington IA.
A memorial funeral service for Max will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church, 309 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant. The Reverend Doug Cue will officiate. A flag folding ceremony will be conducted by the Iowa Military Funeral Honors Detail at the church. Burial will be at a later date in the Forest Home Cemetery. Friends may call from 12 Noon-8PM on Monday at the Kimzey Funeral Home, 213 N. Main St., Mt. Pleasant, IA. The family will receive friends from 5-7 PM.
The memorial service will be livestreamed on the First United Methodist Church YouTube Channel. Duane Lloyd “Max” Maxwell was born April 12, 1936 at home, rural Salem, IA. He was the son of Glenn W. and Gladys Belle (Doan) Maxwell. He attended Maple Grove Country School and graduated in 1954 from Mt Pleasant High School. He attended (then) Iowa Wesleyan College where he was a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. On July 24, 1960 in Leesville, Louisiana, Max was united in marriage to Joan C. “Joni” Smith.
Duane was a veteran of the US Army. He was inducted on March 10, 1959 at Ft. Des Moines and honorably discharged on February 27, 1961 at Ft. Hood, TX as a Tech Sergeant.
Max began farming with his brother Ross. Later, he farmed with his son Tony. In 1968, Max and Ross formed Maxwell’s Market. Max remained a part of the market for 47 years. Max also farmed and operated Maxwell’s Market with his brother-in-law, Richard “Dick” Corell.
Max was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant. He worked many years in the church’s dining room at the Midwest Old Threshers Reunion, where he loved to converse with the many visitors. Max also served as Head Conductor for the Midwest Central Railroad. He played an integral part when the tracks of the railroad needed to be raised. For many years, Joni and he belonged to a dance group out of Ft. Madison.
Those thankful for sharing in Max’s life include his wife of 60 years, Joni of Mt. Pleasant; 3 children – Debra Wuichet and her husband, Jacques “J.W.” of Tupelo, MS, Tony Maxwell and his wife Kristi of Mt. Pleasant and Sean Maxwell of Belton, MO; a sister, JoAnn Corell of Mt. Pleasant; 5 grandchildren – Adam Woodyard, Ethan Woodyard, Ashley Lohmann, Allissa Alexander and Allison Scarff and 5 great grandchildren – Malia, Alina, Abel, Avalynn and Avery.
His parents, brother Ross Maxwell and 3 sisters, Lorene VanSyoc, Eva Heise and Beatrice Jones, precede Max in death.
