Brian Walter

Brian Leonard Walter passed away suddenly on February 11, 2022 in Winfield at age 57.  A Celebration of Life will be held at on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Winfield First Presbyterian Church. The Service will start at 11:00am with an open lunch and time for visitation to follow.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be left to the family in memory of Brian.  The Snyder & Hollenbaugh Funeral and Cremation Services of Winfield is caring for Brian’s arrangements.  Online condolences may be left at   www.sandhfuneralservice.com.

Brian was born on January 25, 1965 to Norman and Janice Walter in Fordyce, Nebraska.  He graduated from Winfield- Mt. Union High School in 1983 and attended Indian Hills Community College studying construction.  He married Angie Kelley in 1987 in Mt. Pleasant and they had three children.  They later divorced.  Brian worked in construction his entire life, many years at Merit Construction with his father and more recently for TWG with his son, Drew.   He was an exceptionally skilled craftsman and enjoyed building and creating.  He had a love for music and was a talented singer and dancer which he passed onto his children.  He enjoyed playing the harmonica and was studying guitar.  Brian loved the outdoors, spending time fishing, camping and riding his motorcycle.  He also loved tinkering, playing Yahtzee, his dogs and most of all, being with his family.

Brian will be deeply missed his three children, Caleb (Kala) Walter of Grimes, Danielle (Logan) Anderson of Solon and Drew (Fran Lathrop) Walter of Cedar Rapids; his six grandchildren, Graham Anderson, Drake Walter, Hadley Anderson, Sophie Walter, Marianna Walter, and Josie Anderson; his mother, Janice Walter of Winfield; siblings, Dean (Sharla) Walter, Kim (Tom) Lampe, and Michelle (Brian) Walter-Blodgett, his partner Gina Hanshaw and family.

Brian was preceded in death by his father, Norman Walter and niece Halen Lampe.
