Carl Edward Miller, 83, died Tuesday, May 7, 2024 at his home in New London. He was born May 7, 2024 in Burlington, the son of Carl Henry and Doris Louise Dadisman Miller. He was a graduate of New London High School.
Eddie worked mostly in the custodial field for several local businesses including Bluebird Midwest, Walmart Distribution, Burlington Hospital, and was a favorite custodian at New London High School. He was a Burlington Hawkeye paper carrier for many years. He enjoyed cards, fishing, playing poker on the computer, listening to tapes, and he loved going to New London wrestling meets and was awarded Fan of the Year.
Eddie is survived by his brothers and sisters: June (Don) Angstead of Mt. Pleasant, Carolyn Christner of Wayland, Dr. Don (Carol) Miller of Washington, Robert Miller of Cedar Rapids, Jack Miller of Mt. Pleasant, David (Hazel) Miller of New London, and Sherri Miller of Tulsa, Oklahoma; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Lloyd Miller.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Pastor David Mixon will officiate. Burial will be in Burge Cemetery, New London. Visitation will begin after 9:00 AM on Tuesday and the family will receive friends from 10:00 to time of the service. A memorial has been established to EveryStep Hospice.
