Mount Pleasant — The Iowa Wesleyan volleyball team was taken down in straight sets yesterday, falling 3-0 to Westminster.
The Tigers played to a close tilt in the second set, but the Blue Jays held on for a 26-24 win. They came back in the third set with a 25-19 win after winning set one 25-12.
Malie DaMate led the Tigers with seven kills, Skylar Garcille added five.
Lindsay Fernandes led the team with eight assists, while Leamaris Fuentes led the back row with 10 digs.
The loss drops Iowa Wesleyan to 1-11 overall.
They’ll be back at home this Saturday when they welcome in the Gorloks of Webster University.
