Cynthia Diane Gaylord Wilson, 64, of New London, died Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Hospice House, West Burlington.
She was born December 3, 1958 in Mt. Pleasant to Donald Lee and Judith Ann Miller Gaylord. Cindy was a 1978 graduate of New London High School and attended two years of college classes, receiving her Associates Degree. She married Jeffrey Allen Wilson in Burlington and they later divorced.
Cindy worked as an LPN at Great River Klein Unit in West Burlington. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, was an avid card sender, and loved to read. She was a member of the Flint Hills Church of Nazarene in Burlington for many years and served on the town council in Middletown.
Cindy is survived by her mother of New London; son Michael Allen Wilson of Burlington; daughter Rachael Lea Wilson of Holt, MO; grandson Caleb Allen Wilson; step-grandchildren Serenity and Maddy; sister Kimberly (Rollie) Fedler of West Point; brothers Nathaniel (Teresa) Gaylord of Gardner, KS and Steven (Angela) Gaylord of Florida; nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, father, and twin grandsons Michael and Steven.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, July 31, 2023 at Elliott Chapel, New London. Reverend Ronald Jewett will officiate. According to her wishes, cremation will follow the service and private family burial will be in Blakeway Cemetery, rural Danville. Visitation will begin after 9:00 AM on Monday, July 31 at Elliott Chapel with the family greeting friends from 10:00 AM until time of the service. A memorial has been established to Flint Hills Church of Nazarene.
