Daniel “Grizz” Lee Richard, 72, of Mount Pleasant, died Friday, January 21, 2022, at Savannah Heights.
Daniel was born November 7, 1949, in Mount Pleasant, the son of Oscar and Catherine (Yoder) Richard. He graduated from WACO High School in 1968. Daniel was united in marriage to Patricia Sieren on. He has lived in the Brighton and Mount Pleasant communities where he was a heavy equipment operator and truck driver. Daniel served on the Brighton Volunteer Fire Department for 39 years. He enjoyed Old Threshers, and spending time with friends and family.
Daniel is survived by three daughters, Melissa Diveney of Washington, Heather Waltman of Fairfield, Stacey (Mark) Chenoweth of Washington; eight grandchildren, Gabe, Brittany, and Bubba Deveney, Stephanie and Courtney Hook, Emma, Mark, and Daniel, Chenoweth; a very special friend and caretaker Linda Pohren of Mount Pleasant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Patricia, brother Larry, triplet brothers Dean, and a stillborn.
Funeral service will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church in rural Wayland. Burial will follow in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held 5:00 – 7:00 pm Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. A memorial fund has been established for the Brighton Fire Department.
