Citizen comments:  Comments must be directed to the subject under consideration.  The presiding officer shall rule on the relevance of the citizen comments.  Citizens making personal, impertinent, or slanderous remarks may be barred by the presiding officer from further comment before the Council during the meeting.

 

Public Hearing

1        Call to order, 6:00 p.m. public hearing.

  1. Receiving of comments for the amended 2023/2024 budget.
  2. Closing of the public hearing.

 

Regular Session

  1. Call to order, regular session, immediately following the closing of the public hearing.

 

  1. Accept or amend the agenda.

 

  1. Open forum: A time set aside to receive comments from the public regarding city business.  The Mayor and City Council welcome comments from the public on any subject pertaining to City business, including items on this agenda.  You are asked to state your name and address for the record and to limit your remarks to five minutes in order that others may be given the opportunity to speak.  The Order of Business is at the discretion of the Chair.  No action will be taken.

 

  1. Discussion and action on the Des Moines County Sheriff’s report for April 2024.

 

  1. Approval of Resolution 2024-10, amending the 2023/2024 city budget.

 

  1. Discussion and action on Resolution 2024-09, establishing a payment policy.

 

  1. Discussion on proposed Ordinance Number 237, changes to Danville City Code, Chapter 13.10 Electric Rates.
  2. First reading of proposed Ordinance Number 237.
  3. Action on the first reading of proposed Ordinance Number 237.

 

  1. Danville Firemen annual Fish Fry/Chicken Fry/Fireworks event, June 28th.
  2. Action on the request for street closures during the food distribution.
  3. Action on approving a Fireworks permit for the Firemen Assoc..
  4. Discussion and action on a contractual payment to J & M Displays for Fireworks.

 

  1. City Electrician’s report.
  2. Update on any on-going projects.  Action if needed.

 

  1. Fire Chief/building inspector report – action by council if needed.

  2. Update regarding the Iowa Grid Resilience Fund application.
  3. Update on sidewalk repair on the east side of North Main Street.  Action by council if

needed.

  1. Update on the agreement with the Danville Station.  Action if needed.
