Wednesday the Mount Pleasant City Council approved a site plan for a two-tenant building to be constructed on North Grand Avenue. According to the site plan one space is designed primarily for a retail business. The second space is intended for a restaurant that also includes a drive-thru. The old Buff’s Truck Plaza building on the site will be torn down. According to Mount Pleasant Planning and Zoning administrator, Jack Swarm, the developer is from out of state. Swarm said he is not aware that the developer has commitments yet from any businesses for occupancy of the building. The new building will be located on the north half of the property. A similar development is planned for the south half.
