Doris D. Remaly

Doris Dianne Krewson Remaly, 77, of New London, formerly of Centerville, died Saturday, January 24, 2026 at New London Specialty Care.  She was born October 27, 1948 in Centerville to Oliver William and Mary Ann Erskine Krewson.

She was a 1966 graduate of Centerville High School and attended Southeastern Community College.  On February 6, 1968 she married Gary Lennie and they later divorced.  She married Oliver Remaly on May 30, 1975 and he died November 13, 2022.

She was a “pioneer” for women in business in the early 1980’s starting her business “Custom Sandblasting” and also worked for Motorola and Dean Christensen Construction.  Doris was a hard worker who volunteered at the Christamore House; enjoyed planting flowers and plants; feeding the hummingbirds; and vacations to Jamaica, Europe and Germany.

Survivors include her sons Mark (Kim) Lennie of Danville and Brian (Shannon) Remaly of New London; six grandchildren Alan, Levi, Austin, Cassidy, Chandon and Dakota; six great-grandchildren with another on the way; sister Sandy Hamilton of Mt. Pleasant and brother Dwane Krewson of Missouri.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and sister Marilyn Peel Brooks.

A visitation with the family greeting friends will be from 2:00 – 4:00 pm, Saturday, January 31, 2026 at Elliott Chapel, New London.  According to her wishes, her body has been cremated and inurnment will be at a later date.  Online condolences may be left at www.elliottfuneralchapel.com
