The Children’s Discovery Center at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library, 307 E. Monroe Street, is open from 10am – 12pm!  There is something to discover for children of all ages and it would be a great time to check out a book from the library.  The Children’s Discovery Center is also open on Monday from 12pm – 2pm.

Tri-T Chapter DD is holding a Winter Coat Drive and today is the last day!  Please consider donating new or gently used coats, hats, mittens or gloves!  Convenient drop-off locations for these items include the Hy Vee Food Store on Washington Street, the Coffee Depot at 402 N. Adams Street in Mt. Pleasant, and the Old Threshers Reunion business office at McMillan Park.

Let the KC’s do the cooking tonight at the Houghton Knights of Columbus Fish Fry from 5pm – 7:30pm!  Enjoy catfish, fish fillets, or jumbo shrimp dinners with two sides at the KC Hall in Houghton!  For Carryout, please call 319-469-2641

The Faith Lutheran Church, 910 E. Mapleleaf Drive in Mt. Pleasant is hosting a Beef and Noodle dinner at 5:30pm on Sunday, November 9th and reservations are required – today is the last day!  The meal is free for one veteran and one guest.  Please call the church with your reservation at 319-385-8427.  You can leave a message.

Friends of HCHC Annual Soup Supper – Friday, November 7th from 4:30-7:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church – 807 E Mapleleaf Dr Mt. Pleasant. Enjoy 4 kinds of homemade soups and chili – try your favorite or sample a flight of three! Top it off with your choice of bread, relishes and a delicious dessert, all for a free-will donation.

The Mount Pleasant High School Drama Department Presents: RADIUM GIRLS with shows today, tomorrow, and Sunday. In the 1920s, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Tickets are $10 per person at the Heatilator Performing Arts Center, 307 E. Monroe Street.  SHOWTIMES ARE:
