The Salem Crew Public Library is hosting STORYTIME at 10am! Stop by the library, 107 E. Cherry Street, enjoy a story and spend some time in the library. Hours: Monday & Tuesday, 1pm – 6pm, Wednesday 1pm – 5pm, Thursday 8am – noon, Saturday 9am – 1pm. The library is closed on Fridays and Sundays.

Better hurry! The New London Lassies & Lads & Pioneers are selling sweet corn for $6/dozen at the New London Park today, Saturday, July 25th from 8:30am until they sell out! So don’t miss out. Nothing like corn on the cob for dinner!

Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation in Fairfield is hosting a low-cost microchip and vaccination clinic for your pets from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Noah’s Ark Animal Foundation, located at 1986 Gear Avenue in Fairfield. No appointment is necessary. $25 for microchip, Rabies vaccinations are $20, yearly vaccinations for dogs and cats are available for $15 each, dog toenail trims for $15 and cat toenail trims for $10. Oral Storytelling of “Henry Clay Dean and his Daughter Christina”- Join Sally Babinat to hear the story of Henry Clay Dean a stone mason, a teacher, and a bookkeeper for an iron manufacturer at 2:00 pm at the Henry County Heritage Trust! This is event is free and open to the public.

The Mount Pleasant Community School District Elementary PTA is inviting families to celebrate summer with a swim party at the Mount Pleasant public pool today from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. A rain date is scheduled for Saturday, August 1. This event is open to all PK-5 students from the district’s four elementary schools, along with their siblings and families. The PTA will cover admission for those who do not have a summer swim pass. Concessions will be available for purchase, so attendees should bring money if they wish to buy snacks. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult for supervision. Please do not drop students off at the pool unattended. Come enjoy an afternoon of swimming, family fun, and get ready for a great new school year!

The  City of Salem is hosting a FISH FRY from 5p-7p in the Salem  Park Shelter House!  Bring the whole family for food and fun activities.  Fish, hush puppies, potatoes, cole slaw, and a drink are on the menu. The meal is a free will donation with all proceeds going toward inflatables for the Salem Old Settlers Celebration in August.
