Mount Pleasant Historic Preservation Commission is having a garage sale today from 8-1 at 500 West Monroe Street in Mount Pleasant! Lots of new items, dolls, collectibles, salvaged items, and fresh produce.

Join the Children’s Department at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library if you dare for a Halloween PARTY at 10:00am.  Activities, crafts & games-costumes are optional and all children must be with an adult.

Feed a Farmer today from 11-1 at the Agri-Center in Mount Pleasant and Chem-Gro in Salem hosted by the Mount Pleasant FFA. All farmers are welcome to come get a free meal provided by the Iowa Corn Growers Association. 50 meals will be available at each location on a first come, first serve basis.

Don’t miss the spine-chilling excitement this OCTOBER, “Jittering Spooks” by Neil and Caroline Shaffner at The Theatre Museum of Repertoire Americana, Jimmie Davis Stage. The show begins at 7:30 pm. Jittering Spooks is full of Ghost and Spooks that will keep you on the edge of your seats, but having a wonderful detective come in from Hogscratch, MO, he is sure to solve all the spook problems, it is full of actions and laughs and wonders (how did that happened) It’s a fun filled show that everyone will enjoy.

Coffee with a Firefighter event on October 21, 2023, from 9:00 to noon at Dunn Brothers in Burlington, hosted by the Burlington Fire Department. There will be multiple fire trucks and ambulances there for you to checkout.

Geode Challenge Races starting at 9:00am at the Beach Shelter-Geode State Park.  5 K, 12K, or 25k run and walk!  Registration is $35/5K, $40/12K, $45/25K.  Pre-registration includes a T-shirt!  Proceeds to towards the Concession Renovation Poject at the beach and is hosted by Friends of Geode and sponsored by Danville Lions Club!  This event is dog friendly!  Sign up at: www.friendsofgeode.org/events
