The Mt. Pleasant Farmers Market opens at 8:30am – 11:00pm in McMillian Park at the Wright Family Pavilion.  Locally grown and fresh produce, baked books, sweet treats and more every Saturday morning and Wednesday afternoon!

The Children’s Discovery Center at the Mt. Pleasant Public Library is open today from 10:00am – 12:00pm!  The Discovery Center is geared toward younger children, there is something to “discover” for all ages!

The Danville Lion’s Club and Friends of Geode invite you to a YAK ATTACK at Lake Geode State Park from 10:00am – 3pm!  Kayaking, Kids Activities, Food Trucks and more!  $25 for a Kayak Entry and that includes a Tye Dye T-shirt!  go to www.friendsofgeode.org/events for more information!

Find your zen with Family Yoga and Scavenger Hunt at 10:00am in Pollmiller Park in West Point! Cost is $10 for one adult-child pair and an extra $5 for every additional child. Bring your own mat and roller. Explore the Historic Harlan-Lincoln House at 101 W. Broad Street in Mt. Pleasant.  The museum features memorabilia featuring Senator James Harlan & President Abraham Lincoln.  The Harlan-Lincoln House is open Saturdays and Wednesdays 2:00pm – 4:00pm.

Players Workshop Theater presents ALICE IN WONDERLAND with their Young Actor Production of the Lewis Carroll Classic!  —Alice, the Cheshire Cat, the Dormouse, the White Rabbitt, the March Hare, the Queen of Hearts, and all the rest—will come to life on the Workshop stage, 1431 Grove St., in Burlington, tonight at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $5.00 for students and are now available for purchase online; otherwise, they may be purchased at the door.   For more information, call the Workshop at 319-753-6623, check out the Workshop’s Facebook page, or go to www.playersworkshoptheater.com.

VFW post 7641 in New London will serve their annual wing night from 5-7 pm Dinners include 5 wings with your choice of sauces, fries and roll. Free will donation will benefit Burge Cemetery to help complete restoration after tornado damage.

National Country Music Recording Artist Jake McVey will be performing a free concert at Bridge View Center’s Outdoor Riverside Plaza in Ottumwa, at 6pm.  Opening the show will be local country artist Chris Childress.   Chairs and tables will be provided, but if attendees prefer to bring their own lawn chair, they are welcome to. No outside coolers and/or food and beverages are permitted.  The Bridge View Center Food & Beverage team will be grilling burgers and other items, along with serving ice cold drinks.  In case of inclement weather, the event will be moved indoors. All ages are welcome to attend.

The Burlington Bees are in action tonight in Burlington against the Alton River Dragons for Boots & Baseball Country Night! Game time is 6:30pm and it’s going to be a fun night with Fireworks and the Buff City Soap Giveaway!  For tickets and information, www.GOBEES.com!  “Get Stung by the FUN!”
