Gather at the Southshore for Oakland Mills Fun Day all day today!  Lulu’s Dam Grill will be open from 11a-7:30p, Live Music from 5p-8p, and activities from 3p-7p!  Registration for the Horse Shoe Tournament opens at noon and the double elimination tournament begins at 1pm.

The 25th Annual Mt. Pleasant High School Marching Band Invitational begins at 5:45pm with gates opening at 4:30pm!  Admission is just $5/per person school age and up. The Mt. Pleasant Middle School Marching Band will open the show in exhibition at 5:30pm followed by performances by marching bands from all over the area!  The concession stand will be open with a delicious menu!

Henry County Heritage Trust presents “Pioneer Cemetery Day” at 2pm.  The Henry County Cemetery Commission will feature a county township and the pioneer cemeteries located there.  The Heritage Trust Museum is open from 1p-4p on Saturday afternoons.

The Oakland Mills Nature Center invites you to “Tree Talk” with DNR Officer Lisa Louck from 1p-3p.  Learn how to identify trees by their leaves, and play tree games.  Registration is not required.

The Art of Recovery is hosting a FREE, family event from 11am – 1pm at Dankwardt Park – 2305 Madison Ave, Burlington, Iowa, in the large shelter house!  The public is welcome to celebrate and support recovery efforts in the Burlington Community.  Resources, activities, games, prizes, music, and food for all.

Player’s Workshop, 1431 Grove St. in Burlington, opens the theatrical season with the musical farce “Something Rotten”! Performances this weekend are at 7:30pm tonight, with a matinee on Sunday at 2pm.  “Something Rotten” has a PG-13 rating, and the biggest celebrity in England is a playwright named William Shakespeare! The performance continues every weekend through October 5th.
