The Mt. Pleasant Winter Market is open from 9am – 12pm at the First Presbyterian Church, 902 S. Walnut Street!  You will find crafts, baked goods, gift ideas, and new items are added each week!  Shop the Winter Market in Mt. Pleasant every Saturday morning through December 13th!

Jingle, Jingle Mix & Mingle in Mt. Pleasant for a Holiday Open House! Downtown Mt. Pleasant businesses will be decked out in holiday décor and filled with new festive merchandise, gift ideas, and holiday cheer!

This event is the official start to the Christmas season in Mount Pleasant — a perfect time to shop small, support local, and find something special for everyone on your list!

The Lockridge Veterans Association invites all to a Veterans Day Ceremony at the Lockridge Community Center!  Breakfast will be served, and the event schedule is as follows:

  • 7:45am – Veterans Day Guests meet at the Community Center
  • 8am – Raising of the Flag at the Cemetery
  • Breakfast at the Community Center
  • 8:45am Veteran’s Day Program including updates to the local Veterans Memorial and POW/MIA Recognition

The Honor Guard will fire a volley of rifles, TAPS, and a final prayer will conclude the ceremony.

New London VFW Post 7641 features their Catfish & Chicken Dinner from 5pm – 7pm!  A catfish dinner is $13, and a chicken dinner is $9.  Your dinner includes a roll and choice of 2 sides: french fries, baked beans, & coleslaw!

The Mount Pleasant High School Drama Department Presents: RADIUM GIRLS with shows today and Sunday. In the 1920s, radium was a miracle cure, Madame Curie an international celebrity, and luminous watches the latest rage—until the girls who painted them began to fall ill with a mysterious disease. Inspired by a true story, Radium Girls traces the efforts of Grace Fryer, a dial painter, as she fights for her day in court. Tickets are $10 per person at the Heatilator Performing Arts Center, 307 E. Monroe Street.  SHOWTIMES ARE tonight at 7pm and a matinee at 2pm on Sunday afternoon!
The Danville School District Speech Team is sponsoring a Pancake Breakfast from 7:30am – 11am in the gym.  Breakfast will be served during the REC league basketball tournament and all proceeds go toward the Danville Speech Teams.
