The Mount Pleasant city compost site is open Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm thru the summer.

The Salem City Wide Garage Sales continue today 8 am to 2 pm.

The Relay for Life Team No One Walks Alone will have a garage and bake sale in the Salem Shelter House from 8 am to 5 pm and again on Saturday from 8 am to 2 pm.

Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is held Saturday from 8:30 am to 11 am in McMillan Park under Wright Pavilion. Wednesday hours are 4 to 6 pm.

The Mount Pleasant Children’s Discovery Center is open from 10 am to noon.  The Center is locate on the east side of the Mount Pleasant Public Library Civic Center on East Monroe Street.

The Dover Museum, chapel and depot on Main Street New London is open Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4 pm thru October.

The Henry County Heritage Museum at 403 W. Monroe in Mount Pleasant is open on Saturdays from 1-4 pm. Cathy and Dave Helman will give a presentation on the Underground Railroad at 2 pm at the Henry County Heritage Trust Museum in Mount Pleasant.

Kick off to Summer Vendor Blender and Car Show from 9 am to 2 pm in McMillian Park Mount Pleasant, IA. Admission is a donation of nonperishable food or monetary donation for perishable foods to be donated to local food banks. Food Trucks and live music from 11 am – 2 pm.

VFW Post 7641 in New London will hold a Wing Night Saturday, June 10 serving from 5-7 pm. Dinners include 5 wings with choice of sauces, choice of 2 sides & roll all for $6.00.  Side choices are french fries, cole slaw or baked beans. All proceeds help support post projects. 802 East McKinley, New London. The public is welcome.

Thank You Is NOT Enough 7th year Motorcycle ride and benefit. The proceeds go for our Veterans and First Responders. Quilt of Valor ceremony at 4:30pm. Free Will Donation Supper, a raffle table and a live Auction starting at 5pm. Everyone welcome. 8:30 am  to 8:30pm,  The ride is $15.00 per person and $5.00 for passenger.

The Villages of Van Buren are hosting the 23^rd annual Fly Van Buren. The fly-in breakfast will be held at the Keosauqua, Iowa Municipal Airport from 7 a.m. – 10 a.m.. The Keosauqua Lions Club will be serving an all you can eat Pancake and sausage breakfast beginning at 7, rain or shine for $8. Children 5-10 eat for $4. The Air Evac Life team helicopter will be on display and Indian Hills Aviation Department will be on site with information about pursuing a career in aviation.
