Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra presents their Symphonic Blast! This concert is under the direction of musical director Robert McConnell with J&M Displays providing fireworks afterwards. This will take place at the Crapo Bandshell at 8pm. Bring your lawn chairs, beverages, bug spray, and friends, to enjoy this night of classical music and amazing fireworks on the bluff of the Mississippi River.

The Mount Pleasant City Compost site is open every Saturday from 8 am to 5 pm and on Wednesday from 1 to 6 pm. The site is located at the intersection of Hoaglin Drive and Yocum Lane.
The Mount Pleasant Children’s Discovery Center is open from 10 am to noon. The entrance to the Center is on the East side of the Mount Pleasant Public Library Civic Center on East Monroe Street.
The Dover Museum, chapel and depot in New London are open everyone Saturday and Sunday thru October from 1 to 4 pm.
The Henry County Heritage Museum at 403 W. Monroe in Mount Pleasant is open on Saturdays from 1-4 pm.
The Mount Pleasant Farmer’s Market is in McMillan Park under Wright Pavilion from 8:30 to 11 am.

It’s Christmas in July for the villages of Van Buren County. 16 businesses will be involved in the Hot Cocoa Run, which will include four stops. The run will start at Jeanette’s Floral and Decor in Keosauqua where you’ll have to grab a North Pole passport and map. There will be stops in Bentonsport, Bonaparte, and Farmington. Bentonsport will have vendors set up with food and crafts. Stop by for a book signing or a concert in the Gazebo at 2 pm by Tom Shadonix. The whole event will run from 9 am to 5 pm.
