Today is the deadline to RSVP for the July 3 Randy Wright Benefit.  Call 319-572-7091. This is in order to get an estimate for the lunch at noon that day. The benefit will be held at East Lake Park in Mount Pleasant at the Hayward Shelter.  It will begin with an optional bike ride around the lake at 11 am followed by the noon lunch and a silent auction.

Bonaparte Historical District celebrate the Fourth of July today.  There will be a beer garden all day.  The dog show is at 1 pm.  There will be a bounce house from 3 to 9.  There’s Bingo from 3 to 5 and then 6 to 8 at the Opera House and bands at 4 and 8 pm.  The Firemen will have a bbq lunch with the trimmings at 10 am and dinner is catfish starting at 4:30.  Fireworks are at dark.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm. The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 8:30 am to 11 am at McMillan Park in the Wright Pavilion.

The Oakland Mills Nature Center is open Saturday mornings from 9 am to noon. Weekday appointments can be made by call 319-986-5067.

The Mount Pleasant Community Theatre presents, “Time Flies” at the Old Threshers Log Village at 6 pm.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair. Show contains adult humor. Free will donation. There will be a second performance June 27, same place, same time. In case of rain the show will be held under Wright Pavilion.
