Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Winfield is hosting a Community Brunch from 9:00am – 1:00pm in Winfield!  Free will donation and all are welcome!

The Winfield Historical Society is sponsoring “The Importance of Quilts and Textiles During the Civil War” at 2pm at the Winfield Veterans Building. The speaker is author & expert quilter Becky Wright, originally from Mt. Pleasant.  She is very knowledgeable of fabrics of the Civil War era as well as quilting. She will give her presentation while in costume and will bring memorabilia & great stories. Becky will also have her books available for purchase. Refreshments will be served for a free will offering. The Winfield Historical Society is trying to raise money for a new location for the museum. They will be renovating the building this summer & money raised will go towards new windows.

The final Orgelmusik concert of the 2023-2024 season will take place at 3:00pm at Swedesburg Lutheran Church. Dr. Gregory Hand, the professor of organ at the University of Iowa, is the special guest. Dr. Hand will feature works by JS Bach, Maurice Duruflé, Johanna Senfter, Arvo Pärt and others.  The concert is free and open to the public.  There will be a free will offering for the church’s organ fund.  The concert can be viewed online at www.facebook.com/SwedesburgLutheran.com
