The Son Shine Academy Preschool at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant is hosting an Ice Cream Social from 5pm – 6:30pm!  A free will donation meal of hot dogs, chili dogs, applesauce, veggies, chips, homemade desserts and of course – Ice Cream – will be served!  All proceeds will go toward Son Shine Academy’s scholarship fund and community outreach!  All are invited, especially current and former families of Son Shine Academy, 910 E. Mapleleaf Drive.

The Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra invites you to Brahms’ 1st Symphony this weekend as part of the 75th Masterworks Series.  Enjoy the concert at the Bridgeview Center in Ottumwa at 2pm, and at 7pm, enjoy the concert in Mt. Pleasant at the Chapel Auditorium.

The Iowa Democratic Party Southeast Iowa invite you to a “Meet the Candidates” mixer at the First Presbyterian Church, 902 S. Walnut Street, in Mt. Pleasant.  This event begins at 6pm.

The Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church is hosting a community wide hayride at the Parish Hall, 201 Academy Avenue in Swedesburg from 4pm – 6pm.  Hot Dogs will be roasted and S’mores will be served along with the hayrides and  games.  From Hwy 218, west on 140th Street, south on Academy Avenue.  This event is free.
