St. Peter’s U.C.C Franklin will be holding their annual Ice Cream Social from 4:00-6:00pm. They will be serving three flavors of homemade ice cream, hot chicken, and beefburger sandwiches, as well as pie, cake, and drinks. Everyone is invited.

Curt Swarm will present a program on his art work that includes writing, metal sculpture and photography at the Dover Museum in New London beginning at 1:30 p.m.

The Sunday concert of the Burlington Municipal Band at the Crapo Park bandshell will feature the extra attraction of a pre-concert performance of Dixieland jazz music by the Macomb, Illinois based “La Moines River Ramblers” beginning at 6:15 PM.  This appearance is funded by the Rand Trust.  The regular concert will begin at the usual time of 7:30 PM with West Burlington band director Ben Grochousky (pronounced “grow-husky”) conducting.  Ben’s selections will include a terrific but little-known Sousa march, Selections from Phantom of the Opera, and a wide variety of other pieces that the audience will find interesting and exciting.  Come early for a family-friendly evening of free live music.  Bring a lawn chair or a blanket or sit on provided benches.
