The Mt. Pleasant Community High School is hosting a Blood Drive from 3:00pm – 6:30pm in the Commons, 2104 South Grand Avenue.  To schedule, contact the High School Office, 319-385-7700.

For Mt. Pleasant students, there will be a meeting for anyone wanting to take SCC College Classes at 6:00 pm in the High School Media Center. Attendance is mandatory for students that have not taken an online college class or attended a meeting.  Student and Parent MUST attend. See Kelli or Mrs. Steele if you have any questions.

The Big Creek Tractor Club will have their meeting tonight at the Open Bible Church Community Room at 7pm.

Des Moines County Conservation is teaming up with conservation departments from Louisa, Lee, and Van Buren County’s. The first Hike a Park will take place at Eden Park in Louisa County from 4:30pm-5:30pm. There is no need to sign up, just come prepared to hike 1-4 miles. All ages are welcome! Each hike will be led by experienced naturalists who can answer any questions you may have. Contact the Starr’s Cave Nature Center 319 753 5808 for more information.

The Henry County Farm Bureau will be hosting their 2nd Annual Supermarket Sweep Competition at the Mt. Pleasant Hy-Vee from 3 pm to 5 pm on Thursday, March 21st. They are encouraging local business to round up a team of 3 to try and collect $250 (either over or under) worth of groceries in five minutes with all the proceeds going to the Fellowship Cup. The only cost to participate is what your team collects in groceries. A trophy will be give to the winning team and awards will also be given to the “Greatest Grabber” and “Best Decorated Cart.” Refreshments and snacks will be provided.
