The Des Moines County Extension & Outreach office is pleased to announce that they will be offering a course that gives women the knowledge and confidence to improve farmland leasing and access practices, adopt new conservation systems, and design more efficient land transitions to next generation farmers.  The course includes essential farmland management topics such as purposeful lease arrangements, creating opportunities for local beginning farmers, types of conservation practices, and the costs and benefits of applying them and preparing to transition land ownership to a new generation of farmers.  Join us for this three-part series beginning Thursday, February 22nd, and continuing on Feb. 29th and March 7th. A meal will be served at 5:30 p.m., with the session being from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Register by February 21, 2024, online at www.extension.iastate.edu/womeninag. Cost is $75. This will occur at Des Moines County Extension Office at 1700 W. Mt. Pleasant Street, West Burlington, IA 52655. For more information, contact Catie Johnson catiejo@iastate.edu or (319) 671-7165.
