March 17 St. Patrick’s Day

“Hike A Park Wilson Lake”  will start at 3 pm at the main entrance parking lot of Wilson Lake in Lee County. There’s no charge and no registration for this 1 to 4 mile hike, how far you walk is up to you.

Main Street Mount Pleasant businesses invite you to the Saving of the Green Beer Walk from 5-7 pm. Enjoy music, drinks and fun at participating businesses.

St. Patrick’s Supper at the Opera House in Bonaparte serving corn beef and cabbage, beef stew, cornbread and desserts.  Eat in or carry out. Serving begins at 4:30 pm. To place an order call 641-919-0882 or 319-217-1048. All proceeds benefit the Bonaparte United Church Building Fund.

VFW Post 7641 in New London will serve corned beef and cabbage beginning at 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. or until gone. The cost is by Free Will donation. The proceeds will go towards replacing the windows at the New London Dover Museum. The public is invited.

The Mount Pleasant High School presents the spring musical, “The Wedding Singer” at 7 pm at the Heatilator Center.  There will be performances Friday and Saturday at 7 pm and Sunday at 2 pm.
