Lunch For A Cause at Addington Place of Mt. Pleasant:  11:30am – 1:00pm!  All proceeds will benefit the P.E.O. Sisterhood: a non profit organization educating women through scholarships, grants, awards, and loans.  Maid-rites, macaroni salad, mini corn on the cob, chips, and a pumpkin bar with cream cheese will be served.  Meals are $7 per order.  To place your carry out or delivery order, please call Addington Place at 319-385-7227!

The Mount Pleasant Library’s Children’s Discovery Center is open from noon to 2 p.m. today.

Hike a Park: Lee County’s Turkey Run Wildlife Area at 3:00. For this hike, participants should meet at the Turkey Run parking lot. Led by naturalists, these guided hikes will take you on a journey of discovery, exploring trails ranging from 1 to 4 miles in length. Whether you’re a seasoned hiker or a beginner, this series caters to everyone’s preferences and fitness levels. Feel free to leave at any time; no registration or fee is required to join! Day one of the Red Flag Horseless Carriage tour Mt Pleasant, Oakland Mills, Salem, Houghton, Mount Hamill, Harrisburg, Bonaparte, Bentonsport, Vernon, Lacey Keosaqua State Park, Pittsburg, Keosaqua.  Brass Era vehicles made before 1928 and their drivers will experience the beauty and hospitality over the three days of touring that are unique to this part of the state. Participants will gather for introductions and a drivers meeting on Wednesday evening, then the official tour starts Thursday.  Tour routes vary each year, and traditionally run between 75 and 100 miles per day.  

Hometown Pride Louisa County, Inc. is hosting the Louisa County Fine Art Show today through Sunday, October 1st.  Art from area artists will be on display at the Morning Sun Community Center; home of the Lora Rock Gallery, 106 N. Main in Morning Sun.  Free and open to the public!
