Henry County Conservation plans to close the “South-Shore” and “Water Works” campgrounds today. As always, the “Top of the Hill” area is open year round with access to water and electric pedestals. All restroom/shower houses will be closed for the winter though.

The Early Childhood Area Board, representing Des Moines, Henry, Louisa and Washington counties, meets at 12:30pm at the Washington County Courthouse. Early Childhood Iowa is a statewide initiative that provides local funding for programs serving all families with children 0-5 years old. The public is welcome to attend.

Taco Tuesday at the Mount Pleasant Christian School will be held from 5 to 6:30 pm serving beef or chicken tacos, walking tacos, super nachos, chips and salsa, pop and water.  There is also a black bean vegetarian option. Dine in or order to go at 385-8613. The school is located at 1505 East Washington Street.

It’s Taco Tuesday at the Mount Pleasant Moose Lodge!  They are serving from 5 to 7 pm.

Henry County Cattlemen are hosting the Iowa Cattlemen’s District 20 Annual Meeting November 3 at Adam Smith’s Shop, 2077 260th Street. Registration starts at 6 pm and the meal will be served at 6:30 pm. RSVP’s are encouraged by October 29 by calling (563)599-1207.
