• Thursday, 5/14/26: Poems are due! planting flower pots and movie night
• Friday, 5/15/26: Cookout for residents and employees with music and winners of the poetry contest will be announced.

Birkwood Village of Fort Madison has some fun for National Skilled Nursing Care Week today with the theme of “60s Peace, Love, and Happiness” where residents and staff will be tie-dying t-shirts, bandanas, or headbands! Join KILJ on Thursday at 2 pm as they head to Birkwood Village of Fort Madison.

• Wednesday, 5/13 – Birkwood Boogie – Music entertainment with Dian at 2:30 – burgers and fries served at lunch
• Thursday, 5/14 – 80s Glow: Big hair and bright lights, hot dogs and root beer floats for lunch and afternoon sno-cones, the day also includes skee-ball and jump rope contest
• Friday, 5/15 – Life is a Circus theme – corn dogs, funnel cakes and more

It’s Taco Tuesday at the Moose Lodge on Saunders Avenue in Mt. Pleasant from 5pm – 7pm.  During the month of May, the Moose will donate $1.00 for every food item sold to Jared’s Park at the Henry County Nature Center.  Remember to stop by the Moose Lodge on Thursday from 5pm – 7pm for a delicious Tenderloin or Burger with $1.00 for each food item sold going to Jared’s Park!

The Mt. Pleasant High School Spring Concert will be held at the MPCHS gym, 2104 S. Grand Avenue at 7:00pm.  The concert features all high school bands and choirs and is a free event.  The public is invited to attend the concert.

Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce members are invited to attend a Henry County Supervisor Primary Election Forum at 5:30pm at the Heatilator Auditorium, 307 E. Monroe Street in Mt. Pleasant.
