Today is curbside recycling pickup day for residents in Mount Pleasant who live north of Washington Street. Residents are reminded to set their green recycling bins at the curb for collection. Accepted items include paper, cardboard, plastic containers, metal cans, and glass. A green recycling bin is required to participate in curbside pickup and can be purchased at City Hall.

The Cannan Community Church at 108 Roads Street in Mt. Union is serving a “Fat Tuesday” Pancake Supper from 5pm -7pm!  Everyone is welcome.

St. Michael’s Episcopal Church, 202 E. Washington Street in Mt. Pleasant, is hosting their annual “Shrove Tuesday” Pancake Supper from 4:30pm – 7pm!  Regular and blueberry pancakes and sausage links are on the menu.  This meal is all you can eat, a free will donation, and take-out is available!  St. Michael’s is praying for the biggest turnout ever!  For take-out, please call 319-385-2633.

The Lockridge Fire and Rescue will host a community blood drive in partnership with ImpactLife on Tuesday, February 17, from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the old Lockridge School building, located at 103 S. Center Street in Lockridge. Community members are encouraged to donate and help support the ongoing need for blood in the region. Appointments can be scheduled online by clicking this link.
