West on Washington Street the outside lane will be closed for repairs today starting at Marion until the bottom of the hill.

The Mount Pleasant Children’s Discovery Center is open on Tuesdays from noon to 2 pm.  The Center is located on the east side of the Public Library Civic Center on East Monroe Street.

The Mount Pleasant Moose Lodge serves tacos on Tuesday nights form 5 to 7 pm.  The Lodge is located at 108 N. Saunders Street.

Washington County Master Gardeners along with the Washington Public Library are hosting a program on Iowa Gardens of the Past starting at 2 p.m. at the Washington Public Library.  The program is presented by Beth Cody, gardener and local author of “Iowa Gardens of the Past: Lost and Historic Gardens of Iowa: 1850-1980.” Beth’s presentation highlights the history of both private and public ornamental gardening in Iowa along with beautiful historic illustrations. There is a Mount Pleasant Middle School concert at 7 pm at the HighSchool.
