Learn the basics of choosing and caring for backyard chickens at a two-hour workshop at 6:00 PM at the Lee County Extension office located at 414 North Main Street in Donnellson. The workshop is sponsored by Lee County Extension and Outreach and the ISU Extension and Outreach Small Farms program. Instructor Christa Hartsook will cover how to order, care for, and protect your new flock. Topics include brooding chicks, appropriate feeders and waterers and coop construction tips. The Henry Co Historic Preservation Commission April meeting will be held Wednesday April 17 at 1:00 at the Henry County Emergency Management Office.at 900 West Washington St..  The public is invited.

The Mount Pleasant City Compost site is open Wednesdays from 1 pm to 6 pm and on Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm. The site is located behind Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.
