The HCHC Gift Shop, located in the hospital lobby, invites you to “Tax-Free Day”!  Let the Gift Shop pay the tax on purchases made between 9am – 3pm!

The Henry County Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 1:00pm at the Henry County Heritage Center, 403 W. Madison Street. (The old Saunders School). The public is invited to attend.

The City of Mount Pleasant Compost Site at 700 West Yocum Lane is open for the season. Hours are Wednesdays from 1:00 to 6:00 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the end of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive. Henry County Secondary Roads Departments reminds residents that today is the deadline (April 15) to submit your self-applied dust control permit. The application for the permit can be found HERE.

DMC Regional Waste offers both a main drop-off site and mobile recycling options on Wednesdays. Residents can recycle items, including rechargeable batteries, at multiple locations. The main drop-off site at 1000 West Washington Street in Mount Pleasant is open from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM. Mobile recycling will also be available in New London at the Town Square from 8:15 to 11:30 AM, and in Danville at City Hall from 1:30 to 3:00 PM. For more information, visit dmcwaste.org.

New London V.F.W. Post 7641 is serving TACOS from 5pm – 7pm!  Carry out is available by calling 319-367-5009.  Stop by the post for a taco at 802 E. McKinley Street in New London!

SEISO Artist-in-Residence, Katya Moeller will perform 2 recitals in southeast Iowa this week.  Katya is an Iowa City native and a violin prodigy.  She will perform in Burlington at the First United Methodist Church, 421 Washington Street.  On Friday, April 17, Katya will perform in Mt. Pleasant at Chapel Auditorium, 601 N. Main Street at 7pm.  Admission is free and open to the public.
