The Henry County Fair officially kicks off today.  4H static project judging is taking place all day.  There will be a kids pedal pull at the Tractor Headquarters at 6 pm.  The Queen contest that also includes the 4H Clothing Event and Share-The-Fun starts at 7:30  pm at Wright Pavilion. A kids movie will be shown outdoors outside the Exhibit Building at dusk.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 4 to 6 pm in the Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park.

Peace Lutheran Church Ice Cream Social begins at 5 pm serving creamed chicken, maidrites, salads and homemade pie along with ice cream. The church is located at 13646 Beaverdale Road, West Burlington.

The Houghton Ball Association Wednesday night league plays. Several local businesses and groups have committed to provide food to the teams and community for this year.  Support the Houghton Ball Association!! Stop by and grab a meal and a cold beverage between 5 and 8 pm  and watch some softball!!

The Salem Rec Association is hosting coed adult softball at the Salem Ball Fields on Wednesday evenings. Salem has partnered with Houghton to host the teams. The Salem Rec Association grills and provides cold beverages between 6pm and 9pm every Wednesday thru the end of July.

The Henry County Conservation Board will hold their July 2021 Board meeting on at 5:30 pm in the conservation board meeting room at the office in Oakland Mills.
