The New London Lassies and Lads and New London Pioneers will be at the New London City Park today around 8:30am until they sell out.  $5 a dozen and buy 5 get one FREE!

The 4H Sharp Shooters club will be selling sweet corn this morning beginning at 9 am at the E3 Center, East Washington in Mount Pleasant until they run out. $6/dozen.

The Henry County Conservation Board will be hosting a special meeting tonight( Wednesday) at the Press Box Grill in Mt. Pleasant at 5:30 p.m. The board will be meeting with Mike and Alyssa Whetherbee owners of Axe Women Loggers of Maine. Mike and Alyssa worked with the conservation department to host an event last weekend at Water Works Park. The board is looking to discuss the success of the program and provide feedback to Mike and Alyssa. No other department business will be discussed.

Sunnybrook at Mount Pleasant hosts a community luncheon from 11 am to 1 pm.  The menu is a maid-rite sandwich with a pickle spear, potato salad, fruit salad and a homemade chocolate chip cookie for carryout for $7.  Funds go to the Mount Pleasant Childcare Center.  To place your carry out or delivery order, call 319-385-7227.  A delivery option is available on 4 or more group orders.

The Mount Pleasant City compost site is open for the season Saturdays from 8 am to 5 pm and Wednesdays from 1 to 6 pm.  The site is located southwest of Saunders Park at the intersection of Yocum Lane and Hoaglin Drive.

The Mount Pleasant Farmers Market is open from 4 to 6 pm in the Wright Pavilion in McMillan Park.

The Houghton Ball Association Wednesday night league plays. Several local businesses and groups have committed to provide food to the teams and community for this year.  Support the Houghton Ball Association!! Stop by and grab a meal and a cold beverage between 5 and 8 pm  and watch some softball!!

The Salem Rec Association is hosting coed adult softball at the Salem Ball Fields on Wednesday evenings. Salem has partnered with Houghton to host the teams. The Salem Rec Association grills and provides cold beverages between 6pm and 9pm every Wednesday thru the end of July.
